Hmm...well nothin really big and exciting is happening down here.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we're going to my great-grandmother's house since my grandmother is hosting some other part of the family's Thanksgiving....long story and we don't talk to part of the family any more hardly at all.
I've been going to Winterguard clinics for the past couple of weeks...its the closet I can get to marching band and its fun so me and my friend Paul decided we would go to the clinics and tryout for it. We tryouts on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 so it should be fun.
Anyways that has been my life for the past week or so...Winterguard,School, and then more Winterguard.

Well.....lets see. Nothing really exciting happening down here. I had All Region tryouts on Saturday and I was two from making alternate which sucks because I know I could have done better. Oh well, there was a lot of competition as my band director says because he was judging horn room. A lot of Allen kids made it. What is up with them? It gets tiring whenever you see on the results is Allen, Allen, Allen. I guess they are really good but they only have one high school with a almoat 600 person marching band. They marched 525 this year in their show....you wanna talk about headache after hearing them. It wasn't a big deal to me because I think about it this way, You win and lose alittle in life. So ya know if I made it good and if I didn't, fine.
Well I'm goin to bed....I could stay awake today.

Well today was a boring day.....even in the coach's class which is unusual because something always weird or intresting happens in his class.
I have a scale test tomorrow in band class....ughh he used to be really funny but now his jokes are starting to get annoying because their almost the same ones all the time. It's weird the whole band usually laughs at his jokes except for the horns. I guess because he's always told us his jokes when we worked with him in marching season. Oh well, life goes on. As I was saying I have a scale test over all the major scales-all octaves. That's the problem all octaves. I can't do all the ocatves on two scales good but I don't wanna leave that certain one out because it's only two or three notes that don't sound good so I guess I'll just mess through them and then show off the rest.
Region tryouts are on Saturday...I'm soooooo nervous. My first real big audition as a high schooler besides the one that I did last spring. The nerves are starting to set in and everyone is nervous. Although I think I will be successful I can never get to comfortable because if your not on your guard looking or new things to work on then you have a good chance of not making it. Or at least that's what I think.
Goin to practice scales and region........

What is it with people making fun of other people???
I always keep asking myself that when I'm sitting in class listening to other people's conversations.
Just today I had to tell a kid that he was annoying and needed to shut his trap about other people because it runs WAY to much. This is the kid that makes fun of other people if they aska stupid question in the kids eyes. I had to sit by him in biology and I finally told him whats up today and he needed to shut up about it. I mean just last week he made my friend Staci cry because we were taking a HARD test and he made her not be able to concentrate and shes the type who takes her time and needs silence. But no...he was callin her all kinds of names and such that I can't even say. So I just gave him a reality check and you know I think he took it because he didn't talk for the rest of the period.
Ask yourself the question and you'll probably be suprised with the answer. It's really hard not to do 100% but if your one of the ones that actually recognizes it that makes you a better person than somebody who doesn't.

Today was intresting...I started a new term (trimester schedule)
My new schedule basically sucks because I have a crappy lunch and worst of all health class is 4th period. So I have to be in health longer than any other class with Mr. Hardin who I really don't like. His rules are that if you don't piss him off everyone will be happy. Also he's a coach on top of that and everyone knows what they are like. So he teaches P.E. for two periods before health and by then he says he's pissed and don't bother him....he just wants us to shut up and do our work.
Besides health I guess all my classes are o.k. except band. We have to be seated at 7:25 every day ready to go... :/ Which kinda stinks because we can't really leave the band hall to go talk to friends and/or go to our lockers. Oh well...at least if I'm running late all I have to do is swing into the band hall and get my crap out and warm-up.

So ya thats my life right now.
Goin to a V-Ball game tonight. It's against Naaman so we better win. GO STANGS!!!!!!

Hmmmm...lets see.....nothin really all that intresting happened today. I got up and went to church which was nice because we haven't been there in a long time because my lil sis was sick and just about a week ago she was on her 90 day marker so we decided that it was time to start heading back. After church we went to Sam's and then our usual run to Target to get my lunch stuff etc. Then went to the Brook May's prefered customer sale. A lot of things were discounted and I needed hand guard, valve oil, and some other horn stuff. That's pretty much all I did today.
Yesterday I went and saw The Incredibles.....it was the best animated film that I'd seen in a long time since about Finding Nemo. I give it an A+++++++++++++++ rating.

Wow....long time no post. I've been so busy that I havent had time to think about posting. Well thats a lame excuse. lol. Lets see recap of the past months........
August:
School started and I had my first day in high school at Sachse High School. Every day I had marching practice from 3:30-5:15. It actually wasn't as bad as it normally is.....usually in Texas its hotter than hell down here in summer. But we still sweat like crazy and drink water like theres no tomorrow. Our first 5A Varsity game was o.k......we actually won but it really didn't matter beacuse it was out of district. Our band had our opener done which was good while the other band had their whole show done.
September:
School started to get intense along with band...Mr. Goodwin started to yell at us and get frusturated. We still had to hold horns for about 10 minutes after rehearsal. Football games were good we kept putting new parts of the show on the field. It was still hot but not boiling which is wild for Texas....everybody was loving the weather! We were thanking the marching band gods for giving us temps. less than 90 degrees.
October:
We finally finished our show of "X marks the spot" a week before our first marching competition. The next Saturday we had to go to Carrollton for a very competitive marching competion. We made it to finals and placed 7th which was awesome for us because Mr. Goodwin said that after the finals performance we deserved 10th place. Then the next week we had DeSoto Classic and took home everything to be had....trophies, best in class, etc. http://thebuchsbaums.com/v-web/gallery/ Then it was off to bandfest ( a thing that GISD does every year to raise money for the bands). We pretty much took the breath out of everybody....we were the only marching band out of 7 or8 high schools to get a standing ovation all night. So we were feeling big and bad until the day of UIL. That was the day that hardly anyone talked. We were all REALLY nervous because this was one of the years that we could go to state. We were one of the first people to perform so if we wanted to make area we woukd have to do excellent. We got off the field and Mr. Goodwin gave us his evaluation as always after a field performance...."It was one of the best performances ever." We were sooooo happy. It just so happens that we were chosen to go to area competition the next week which was great.
Area:
we arrived at area as the underdogs and just happy to be there since it was our first ever 5A Varsity band and first ever graduating class. The judges decided to do it as a prelims/finals competition. So we went oout and performed our show and the directors liked it which was an excellent plus. That performance got us to finals. We left naaman (another school in our distict) in the dust. Also we were advancing with Rowlet (our rivals). So we played our show and the seniors were crying and everybody was sad because that could be our last performance. Mr. Goodwin said that if everything else went wrong he was proud of us and that we achieved his goal...which was to go to area and get into finals. It happened that we didn't go to state. :(...everybody was sad. Worst of all Rowlet went. Oh well...we did our best and pleased our band director.
Now marching band is ending and everyone is sad, but hey we achieved more than we thought we could acomplish this year. This experience has been a great one for me because I have made friends that I will never forget and learned new things about myself.
