Its only one day until Christmas!!...yea!

Tonight we get to open presents...its a tradition since my grandparents used to live far away but now they live closer. My parents decided to go ahead and keep the tradition going by letting us unwrap presents which is way cool to me...being a kid and all. Today we went to Panda Express and oh man...did it smell good or what. Me and my mom were frothing on the way home. Another tradition of ours is to eat chinese food on Christmas night. We would used to go to August Moon but a few years ago they changed and only started making like two different trays...which we weren't to fond of. So we decided to go to the new Panda Express near our house and save it until tomorrow night.

What are your traditions???

Hmmmmm..lets see..this has been a good week so far. My lil sis had gone to gymnastics camp on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. So me and mom finished Christmas shopping for Meredith and Marc. On Tuesday I went and saw Xmas with the kranks and then yesterday I went and saw meet the fockers...which was hillarious. Today I've stayed home and wrapped presents etc.....also it snowed so my mom doesnt like to go out when it snows and everything. Nothing really fun happening today besides the fact that tomorrow is Christmas Eve.

Have to go and practice horn and do whatever else needs to be done.

i'm in gryffindor!
be sorted @ nimbo.net

I've officially been sorted........

Congratulations on making Gryffindor!
Basically, you're brave, daring, chivalrous, and pretty much.. an all around good person. Of course, some see you as a goodie-two-shoes. But hey, it's true! You're really good at winning, and normally always come out as the hero. Everybody likes you.. except, maybe, the Slytherins. You're too perfect. No, really.. You're too perfect. It's annoying to watch you win, repeatedly. Oh well. Be proud anyway.

WAHOO!!!!!....I'm officially out for winter break! Got out at 12:30 yesterday. School was a major waste though, we had to watch movies in every single class except health where we sort of presented projects that we had been working on. I don't see why we had to go to school because there was nothing to do. I thought school was for learning not movies. Oh well, I would have much rather watched movies all day then having assignments and possible homeowork.

Today was boring to beacause I have done nothing but sit and watch t.v. or sleep..which realyl isn't all that bad I guess. LOL. I hope tomorrow is better...hopefully we get to go somewhere. I think me and my dad are gonna go somewhere maybe tonight I hope. We usually go somewhere at night if we havn't gone anywhere the whole day.

Here's a shoutout to my grandparents. One is sick with the flu in the hospital...and the other is on her way to getting sick. :( I hope y'all get better in time for christmas! I'm praying for you and don't let them give you bad "service" at the hospital. ;)

Well gonna see if me and dad are gonna do anything tonight.

Had my first winter band concert in the mustang band last night. We played a fanfare to Joy to The World, A Little French Suite, and Celebrate Christmas. It was o.k...we didn't do our best like normal but nobody could really tell. Our band director though is a very intresting person. He becomes very animated at a concert. Almost everyone had the smiling playing face (you can barely play beacuse your laughing). But other than that it was all good.

Man.....I had this hard as hell Biology test today. I don't think I did so hot on it. It was like really hard because the things she said to study were hardly on the test. Also the weird thing was that I actually studied for this test and went in there expecting to do well and not just make an 80. The good thing about science for me that me and my friends have figured out is that if you make a lower grade than your average then it raises your grade up and yet if you make higher it brings it down. It's kinda weird huh. Otherwise my day was o.k...had a math and geography test today which were really easy.

Tomorro we get out at 12:30 and then on friday we get out at the same time but there's a varitey show that me and my friends are plannin to go to...otherwise we would be stuck in 5th for almost 2 hours. I like my teacher but not enough to see her for 2 hours.

Friday, December 10, 2004

Today was an intresting day for a friday at Sachse High School. It's a week until winter break and instead of having a lot of tests and quizes (the norm on fridays) I pretty much either played a game or watched movies 90% of the day. In first period, band, well that's almost self explanitory. For all you non-band people, the band hardly ever gets a break. The only time we get a break is if our concert is over and/or its the last day of term or something like that. Then I went off to Geography and took notes almost all period but my teacher is cool so she spreads them out and lets us talk for a while inbetween slides. Then I walked to math where we got to play Jepardy and my team came in second place. That was fun...we got a pencil and two pieces of candy for coming in second. The bell rang, it was time to go to health.....the class that if anything would go wrong it would be that. So we walk in and he turns on a sexual reproductive system. It was very gross...but not as gross as I heard it was gonna be by some people in math. We get over that and have almost an hour left to just sit and talk in class. After what seemed ages we went to lunch and then to 5th period-Biology. There was a game going on with our varsity team against some really good school. It was to help support a scholarship fund for a football player who was injured and paralyzed. My friend Staci and I decided not to go to the game because we had a lab that we needed to finish because we've done hardly anything on it. So anyways our teacher didn't let us work on the lab...instead we had to watch the most boring movies ever seen that were supposdley gonna be really funny and good. After what seemed to be 15 years the bell rang and we were let go and my day was a lot better.

All I have to say right now is T.G.I.F.!!!!~

I forgot to post that my grandfather died on December 3, 2004. I wish he were still alive because he would always tell jokes and make me laugh. I haven't spoken to him for about 2 years because my dad and I had a fight and stuff went on in my life so I stopped going to his house and such including talking (my parents are divorced). So anyways my grandpa's memorial service was on Tuesday. I knew my father and all his family would be there that I honestly cannot stand. But I loved my grandfather and decided to stick it out and meet my past because it was going to happen at some time in my life. So we get to the church and take our seats...I choose not to be a part of the family. The service was very nice and I almost started to cry alittle. Then when it was over and the family was leaving my grandmother who I love to death came out of the crowd to give me a hug. My cover was blown. Then like some of the family started to ask if I remembered them and such. So we go to reception and I great my granny and tell her I love her. Then my mom walked away for a split second to go and say something to someone and like a herd of cattle, everyone was all over me. Asking for hugs and stuff like that. My dad totally avoided me until everyone else was over where I was and had to come and say hi for the first time in almost 3 years. After that he like walked off....it pisses me off. All he could say was hi thats it. I see how much I'm worth in his book. Then Janet's (stepmom) askes my mom for a hug and Sarah, a cousin, asks me to walk with her. So she leads me into the hall and says your dad loves you, you know that right. I'm like ya, sure. Then she said I should give him a call sometime like what happened was my fault. I was about to explode on her and tell what was up/the truth not a lie that she probably got. Just in time my mom saved me by saying I had winterguard. Thankyou mom!

So ya, that was what it was like. I never knew a funeral could make me so mad.....I thought I was supposed to be sad, not mad.
I just go back from winterguard a little while ago bout 7:30ish. We got to leave early this week but next week we have to stay till 8. So from 5 to 6:30 we worked on the normal basics and learned new basic stuff like pull hit doubles and windmills then a double.

Also I got to check in my mellophone FINALLY today. It took forever because we were supposed to check them last week but my buddies and my horns had black stuff on the slides so we had to take them home over the weekend. So I do that Sunday afternoon and everything is all good until my weird and freaky band director tells me that it doesn't have the sparkle and shine that it needs to have to sit in a case for the rest of the school year. Anyways I don't complain and take it home and polish it very nicely and then bring it back. It stayed in my cubby until this afternoon. The good thing though is that its turned in.

Today I got to see my ranking in my class; 69 out of 682 which isn't to bad I guess...top ten percent but I have to work harder now to keep it up and to advance.

So nothing happened down here today besides the fact that the high was 70. I still can't believe that it hasn't gotten really cold this year. But hey, it was a nice and cooler marching band season so its all good. I just wish that it would get colder and not be Christmas and have 70 degree weather.

Wednesday, December 08, 2004

Last night was my first night of winterguard. It was a lot of fun but a lot of work. For those of you that don't know Winterguard is just like colorguard (the people who spin the flags around with the marching band) except that your on a HUGE tarp inside performing in a gym. So anyways our song for the show is God Put A Smile On Your Face by Coldplay. Also its fun with all the weird stuff we get to do. My legs were hurting this morning...I could barely move. I thought I was like an old person who had sat down for to long of a time and couldn't get up. So this year the Sachse B' Winterguard she be a lot of fun. And it's the closest thing I can get to marching band. ;)

Now its off to practice my Winterguard stuff and then play my French Horn.

Monday, December 06, 2004

Today was a good day I guess. Nothing went really bad or wrong so it was all good. The best thing was that I didn't sleep really well at all last night and I still wasn't dead tired today. Had a Biology quiz and thank the lord she gave us a review because I totally forgot to study.

This weekend was o.k....nothing really bug and excitnig happened. We started to decorate our Christmas tree on Friday and finished it on Saturday night so that was good. Then on Saturday my parents went to Toys R' Us and bought my lil sis a bike for Christmas from the big man in the jolly red suite. So anyways ya.

I have to go and eat supper then to scouts.

Friday, December 03, 2004

I made winterguard! I was the last person to get picked to be on B' but hey I'm happy just to be on it. What really made me mad though is that my like best friend Paul was like making fun of me saying..*laughing* you barely made it *laughing*. It made me sad and hurt my feelings because every time I beat him in a band competition or something I wouldn't say hardly anything but the one time he beats me its all in my face. Also he thinks he's a real bada** as of yesterday because he made rifle. Well he calmed down alittle when the word that supposdley I was going to be put on rifle. So now we're even as of right now. It just made me feel bad that after al he had lost and I won and I was nice about it he had to go and laugh in my face. Oh, well its over and we're both supposedly.

If you know anybody like that then you know my perspective.

Wednesday, November 24, 2004

Hmm...well nothin really big and exciting is happening down here.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we're going to my great-grandmother's house since my grandmother is hosting some other part of the family's Thanksgiving....long story and we don't talk to part of the family any more hardly at all.

I've been going to Winterguard clinics for the past couple of weeks...its the closet I can get to marching band and its fun so me and my friend Paul decided we would go to the clinics and tryout for it. We tryouts on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 so it should be fun.

Anyways that has been my life for the past week or so...Winterguard,School, and then more Winterguard.

Monday, November 15, 2004

Well.....lets see. Nothing really exciting happening down here. I had All Region tryouts on Saturday and I was two from making alternate which sucks because I know I could have done better. Oh well, there was a lot of competition as my band director says because he was judging horn room. A lot of Allen kids made it. What is up with them? It gets tiring whenever you see on the results is Allen, Allen, Allen. I guess they are really good but they only have one high school with a almoat 600 person marching band. They marched 525 this year in their show....you wanna talk about headache after hearing them. It wasn't a big deal to me because I think about it this way, You win and lose alittle in life. So ya know if I made it good and if I didn't, fine.

Well I'm goin to bed....I could stay awake today.

test

test...making sure everything is workin right

Thursday, November 11, 2004

Well today was a boring day.....even in the coach's class which is unusual because something always weird or intresting happens in his class.

I have a scale test tomorrow in band class....ughh he used to be really funny but now his jokes are starting to get annoying because their almost the same ones all the time. It's weird the whole band usually laughs at his jokes except for the horns. I guess because he's always told us his jokes when we worked with him in marching season. Oh well, life goes on. As I was saying I have a scale test over all the major scales-all octaves. That's the problem all octaves. I can't do all the ocatves on two scales good but I don't wanna leave that certain one out because it's only two or three notes that don't sound good so I guess I'll just mess through them and then show off the rest.

Region tryouts are on Saturday...I'm soooooo nervous. My first real big audition as a high schooler besides the one that I did last spring. The nerves are starting to set in and everyone is nervous. Although I think I will be successful I can never get to comfortable because if your not on your guard looking or new things to work on then you have a good chance of not making it. Or at least that's what I think.

Goin to practice scales and region........

What is it with people making fun of other people???
I always keep asking myself that when I'm sitting in class listening to other people's conversations.

Just today I had to tell a kid that he was annoying and needed to shut his trap about other people because it runs WAY to much. This is the kid that makes fun of other people if they aska stupid question in the kids eyes. I had to sit by him in biology and I finally told him whats up today and he needed to shut up about it. I mean just last week he made my friend Staci cry because we were taking a HARD test and he made her not be able to concentrate and shes the type who takes her time and needs silence. But no...he was callin her all kinds of names and such that I can't even say. So I just gave him a reality check and you know I think he took it because he didn't talk for the rest of the period.

Ask yourself the question and you'll probably be suprised with the answer. It's really hard not to do 100% but if your one of the ones that actually recognizes it that makes you a better person than somebody who doesn't.

SACHSE WON!!!!! yea! We wooped Naaman in three hard matches.

GREAT JOB VOLLEYBALL TEAM!!!!
Today was intresting...I started a new term (trimester schedule)

My new schedule basically sucks because I have a crappy lunch and worst of all health class is 4th period. So I have to be in health longer than any other class with Mr. Hardin who I really don't like. His rules are that if you don't piss him off everyone will be happy. Also he's a coach on top of that and everyone knows what they are like. So he teaches P.E. for two periods before health and by then he says he's pissed and don't bother him....he just wants us to shut up and do our work.

Besides health I guess all my classes are o.k. except band. We have to be seated at 7:25 every day ready to go... :/ Which kinda stinks because we can't really leave the band hall to go talk to friends and/or go to our lockers. Oh well...at least if I'm running late all I have to do is swing into the band hall and get my crap out and warm-up.
]
So ya thats my life right now.

Goin to a V-Ball game tonight. It's against Naaman so we better win. GO STANGS!!!!!!

Sunday, November 07, 2004

Hmmmm...lets see.....nothin really all that intresting happened today. I got up and went to church which was nice because we haven't been there in a long time because my lil sis was sick and just about a week ago she was on her 90 day marker so we decided that it was time to start heading back. After church we went to Sam's and then our usual run to Target to get my lunch stuff etc. Then went to the Brook May's prefered customer sale. A lot of things were discounted and I needed hand guard, valve oil, and some other horn stuff. That's pretty much all I did today.

Yesterday I went and saw The Incredibles.....it was the best animated film that I'd seen in a long time since about Finding Nemo. I give it an A+++++++++++++++ rating.

Saturday, November 06, 2004

Wow....long time no post. I've been so busy that I havent had time to think about posting. Well thats a lame excuse. lol. Lets see recap of the past months........

August:
School started and I had my first day in high school at Sachse High School. Every day I had marching practice from 3:30-5:15. It actually wasn't as bad as it normally is.....usually in Texas its hotter than hell down here in summer. But we still sweat like crazy and drink water like theres no tomorrow. Our first 5A Varsity game was o.k......we actually won but it really didn't matter beacuse it was out of district. Our band had our opener done which was good while the other band had their whole show done.

September:
School started to get intense along with band...Mr. Goodwin started to yell at us and get frusturated. We still had to hold horns for about 10 minutes after rehearsal. Football games were good we kept putting new parts of the show on the field. It was still hot but not boiling which is wild for Texas....everybody was loving the weather! We were thanking the marching band gods for giving us temps. less than 90 degrees.

October:
We finally finished our show of "X marks the spot" a week before our first marching competition. The next Saturday we had to go to Carrollton for a very competitive marching competion. We made it to finals and placed 7th which was awesome for us because Mr. Goodwin said that after the finals performance we deserved 10th place. Then the next week we had DeSoto Classic and took home everything to be had....trophies, best in class, etc.
http://thebuchsbaums.com/v-web/gallery/ Then it was off to bandfest ( a thing that GISD does every year to raise money for the bands). We pretty much took the breath out of everybody....we were the only marching band out of 7 or8 high schools to get a standing ovation all night. So we were feeling big and bad until the day of UIL. That was the day that hardly anyone talked. We were all REALLY nervous because this was one of the years that we could go to state. We were one of the first people to perform so if we wanted to make area we woukd have to do excellent. We got off the field and Mr. Goodwin gave us his evaluation as always after a field performance...."It was one of the best performances ever." We were sooooo happy. It just so happens that we were chosen to go to area competition the next week which was great.

Area:
we arrived at area as the underdogs and just happy to be there since it was our first ever 5A Varsity band and first ever graduating class. The judges decided to do it as a prelims/finals competition. So we went oout and performed our show and the directors liked it which was an excellent plus. That performance got us to finals. We left naaman (another school in our distict) in the dust. Also we were advancing with Rowlet (our rivals). So we played our show and the seniors were crying and everybody was sad because that could be our last performance. Mr. Goodwin said that if everything else went wrong he was proud of us and that we achieved his goal...which was to go to area and get into finals. It happened that we didn't go to state. :(...everybody was sad. Worst of all Rowlet went. Oh well...we did our best and pleased our band director.

Now marching band is ending and everyone is sad, but hey we achieved more than we thought we could acomplish this year. This experience has been a great one for me because I have made friends that I will never forget and learned new things about myself.

Tuesday, July 27, 2004

Day two of band was basically like yesterday except we learned turning and some new music. Also I had a sectional after rehearsal which kind of stunk because we had to play for five hours...the most I've ever played in a day. So I'm like burned. Tomorrow I'll most likely be like oh mom do I hafta go.

On the non-bandnerd side of my life I'm plannin to go see the village this friday with some friendz. Its gonna be awesome...if you like suspense movies!

Oh ya and I had a request to put in my blog.... Sarah I love you

Monday, July 26, 2004

Today was my first day of marchin band it for the most part it was fun. We went through the basic stuff (stretches, counting, marktime, etc.).  We did alittle bit of marching on the practice field for a while.....marching in 16 counts and then doing marktime. Then we had an hour for lunch then we had to go back and had our music rehearsal. Mr. Goodwin kept commenting on how the capacity sign was 80 and we had over one-hundred. lol. The rehearsal was fun and we got to play our fight song and William tell. Well that's all for today...Have to go to bed so I can actually get up in the mornin.

Sunday, July 25, 2004

Well...lets see.. today I went and got some new shoes since I need some good ones for band practice which is tomorrow. Oh boy am I gonna get my you know what worked. I'm gonna die!! lol. We have two a day practices..7:30 am to 12 then 1:30 to 3:30. Its gonna be so much work but its gonna be worth it. Our theme this year is going to be pirates so ahoy. Well I'm goin to bed. I have a huge day ahead of me tomorrow.

Sunday, July 18, 2004

Whoa...I've gotton way behind on my posts. A lot has happened in the last week or so. I've had band stuff and my lil sis had MAJOR surgery for reflux. It was called a nissen and is just below brain and heart surgery. I was soooo scared for her, but she made it alright...by the next day she was off morphine and was up and walking.  She didn't have things come up her esophagus and was rechewing.....it made me so happy to not have to see her in pain or anything. It was the real first time that she was truly happy in her almost three years she's lived. Now I realize what it means to be careful and never let them out of your sight because you never know what will happen in the next five minutes.  So when she's up and running and wants to play I take every moment I can with her because I never know what will happen to her. She has been through so much in the past few years that i think she is a stronger person than I am when it comes to medical things. So if you have a younger sibling in your life always love them because you never know what will happen. The next day they could be in the hospital having major surgery or could hvae somebody take them from you.

This is for you Meredith....I love you! Your stronger than I could have ever been in the past three years.

Sunday, July 04, 2004

Happy Fourth!! Today is not only the fourth but my mom's birthday. So I've been workin a lot today. LOL. You know how it is on mom's birthday...can you do this or that? I can't say no because its her b-day. Anyways I went to go and see Spiderman 2 yesterday, it was really cool. I think it was better than the first by a lot. Thats pretty much all that has happened in my life.

Friday, July 02, 2004

Today I woke up very excited because my grandmother had agreed to keep my lil sis so me and my mom could go and see a movie as her birthday present. She doesn't like to do very many things for her birthday since its on July 4th so when she says she wants to go see sumtihn im all for it. So we decided to go and see The White Chicks. It was HILARIOUS! We both thought it was one of the best comedys we have seen in a long time. Also it was like the first movie she had seen since before Meredith was born. She really needed to have sumthing to make her smile and laugh since I don't see her very laugh and smile very much like that anymore with Meredith's issues and everything. Speaking of Meredith.. keep her in your prayers since shes going to have major surgery in the next week or so. I'm very worried about her and I hope she'll be o.k. The are going to open her up and tie her stomach to her esophagus to try and eliminate her reflux. It would be really nice if this was the final fix and she would be like a normal kid. SOmetimes when I go to bed at night I just wish that I would get some of the things and not her. I care about her sooo much and just wish that one day everything will be o.k. and she will be well.

Sunday, June 27, 2004

I haven't posted in like over a week because I've been staffing at Golden Acorn for Boy Scouts (GA). It was sooo much fun, in fact I think it was about the best thing I've ever done in scouts. It was the coolest because I got to boss around little candidates. LOL. Ya, it was quite a bit of work but it paid off. We started about November and it just ended yesterday. we had campouts and lots of meeting before the course and then last saturday started the real thing. We had to work work work but everyone was havin fun while workin. It started by getting everyone in their patrols and takin them on an orentation trail where they learned how to do things clean, set up camp, etc. We went through the week and they got to build ballistas (catapults) and go on a outpost hike along with all the presentations on how to learn to be a better leader in their troop. On Thursday was the best day because the boys wouldbe leaving for their outpost and we got to party all night long! :) So when they left we all had pizzas (one for every boy), watched family guy and The Rundown, then we all split off-people went to go gator hunting and my group decided to make a slip n slide. It was so fun because we had one going across the pavillion and all kinds of junk to it (i recommmend to never use sprinkles-they feel like pellets) and even slide under a picnic tanle in which we startesd puring coolers of cold water oneach other. We went to bed around 2 or so in the morinin. It was great. Then after everyone left on Friday we went out bowlin (the staff has to stay a day longer then everyone else) but the bowlin alley was filled with not so good looking kids ;). So mwe went to the DQ and had blizzards and junk and then went back and watched movies and played HALO (one of the coolest games ever). That was a REALLY quick overview of my week.
When I got home my toe was in a horrible condition and once my mom saw it she was like..I'm callin the doc's office. SO when we got into the doctors office they said my worst fear..I had to have it removed. My mom had kept sayin how bad it was with the 4 shots in the toe and everthing so I was like OMG this can't be happenin but it was. When the Doc came in he gave me like ten or more shots becauser four wasn't nearly enough to numb my toe up...after it was numbed I couldn't feel a thing when he was using scissors to cut it off. When I got home I got on the computer for like the first time in a week and then the pain came. I had taken a pain killer but all I could feel was the places where he had stuck the needle into into my toe. It hurt so bad that I was cryin...I hadn't cried at all in the docs office while getting the shots. Then the pain killer kicked in and I was o.k. for the rest of the night. I feel a lot better now that its off though.

Well I'm off to go and prop my foot off and talk on the phone.

Friday, June 18, 2004

O.k. I forgot to blog yesterday...it wasn't a good day. Mainly because my dad had basically gotten fired from his job at my scout troop. Supposdley he hadn't been doing some things even though he had been and so they fired him. The one thing he wanted to do was stay in the job until I got my eagle scout (which I was sooo close to making). Anyways life goes on...I have bigger fish to fry like doing my eagle project.

Today was a fun day because we got up and left. We first went to the doc's office for my lil sisters checkup and stuff. The worst part for me was that my mom had to bring up my toe (which was bad because I did something to it a while ago and the toenail is growing off while a new is coming)so the doctor looked at my toe and he's like "its ok it just needs to be soaked in salt water for a little while." I was like ok this is nice...he didn't prod or do anything to it. YEA RIGHT! He then pulled out a instrument and stuck it into my toe and moved it around until it started bleeding. Talk about pain...it hurt so abd I could barley talk. After that we went to stores and shopped for my lil sis at chidrens place and old navy which i got a shirt and cap. Well I got to go eat dinner now and havhe my last real meal since I'm going to scout camp tomorrow.

Wednesday, June 16, 2004

So today was a busy day for me. My lil sis woke me up at the crack of dawn saying "time to wake up..wake up!." I wasn't all that happy because I didn't get tot sleep forever. Oh well life goes on...I can't sleep forever. Anywaz I got up and tooko a shower, brush teeth, etc. then we were off to Wal-Mart to return a pool which i had basically broke trying to set up for my little sister and a water gun which I had gotten for a campout thing a while ago. Then it was off to target to return a fan which I broke alittle bit. The swithc didn't work after it fell. After that there wasn't very much that happened except me getting my summer reading book which is a seperate peace. Well I am going to watch a movie now.

Tuesday, June 15, 2004
